' Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!'

' It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear.'

' So shows a snowy dove trooping amongst crows,
As yonder lady over her fellows show.'

Wednesday,

Mr Chua told us the meaning of what Romeo told Juliet.
It's is so romantic.

' Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!'
means Juliet is brighter than any torch.

'It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear.'
means that Juliet shine like diamonds in the night sky.

' So shows a snowy dove trooping amongst crows,
As yonder lady over her fellows show.'
means Juliet is compared to a dove
which are beautiful
while the other ladies in the Ball
are compared to crows.
which are ugly.

8th and 9th Literature Lesson

Wednesday,

Mr Chua taught us a new story which is " Romeo and Juliet".
Mr Chua gave us a worksheet on " Romeo and Juliet" which is- Character Analysis.
Mr Chua shows the class a short clip of " Romeo and Juliet".
The clip shows me how Romeo and Juliet started their love.
Romeo attended a party of Lord Capulet, Juliet's father.
Two of these teenage lovers are kept apart by their families, Montague and Capulet,
who are locked in a bitter feud.
Tybalt told Lord Capulet a young man from the Montague family is at his party.
Lord Capulet told Tybalt to calm down. He told Tybalt to leave Romeo alone.
Romeo carries himself like a dignified gentleman.
Romeo has a reputation throughout Verona as a virtuous and well-behaved young man.
Lord Capulet wouldn't insult him in his house for all the wealth in town.

From these lesson, I learn to respect people even though they are our enemy.
Mr Chua gave us a worksheet on - Character Trait which the class has to do as homework.

Friday,

Mr Chua told us to get to our " bravo"( in pairs ) formation.
We are grouped to the characters given to us.
My character is Lord Capulet.
We started doing the worksheet Mr Chua given us while Mr Chua giving out the marks
we get for our learning log.
I get 52%.
We were told to show that to our parents and ask them to sign it.
During the last few minutes before Literature lesson ended,
Mr Chua gave us an envelope and put our Friendship card in it
to post to our friend.
I post my friendship card to Amirul.
Mr Chua sponsored us the stamp and envelop.
He also going to post the envelope for us.

7th Literature Lesson

Yesterday, Mr Chua gave our class 2 worksheets. The first worksheet was about a scene in " The Merchant Of Venice." It was a scene of Portia and Shylock in court. Antonio have offered to returned three times the money he owed from Shylock but Shylock refuses. He have vowed an oath to heaven. Portia said the bond is a forfeit. Shylock may lawfully claim a pound of flesh, to be cut out by Shylock nearest  to Antonio's heart. Portia told Shylock to be merciful before cutting the flesh of Antonio. Portia told Shylock to accept three times the money Antonio had owed him and tear up the bond. The second worksheet is our homework which is the continues of the first worksheet.

Mr Chua told us to do our worksheet in 10 minutes. I feel the lesson was interesting as Mr Chua taught us interestingly. It can be improve if the whole class pay attention and listen to what the teacher is teaching.

It can be applied to my personal life that we must not insult each other belief. religion is a very sensitive issues. Unwanted fight could broke up if we do not respect each other belief.

It is relevant in a multi-racial society in Singapore to respect each other belief. It is not only relevant to Singapore but the world.

Last weeks I didn't attend school as I was taking part in the school 10th Anniversary Concert so I do not knew much about last week. But I get to know that Mr Chua taught the class about friendship from my friends.
